Homework Problems
All graded homework assignments are posted and submitted on our WebWork page. We will discuss username and password information on the first day of class.
In addition to the assigned problems, there will also be a number of optional problem sets that are posted, either on WebWork or on this site (or both). Optional problems from the text will be odd-numbered, so that solutions are available at the end of the book. Optional problems on WebWork will have answers available immediately upon posting.
Optional Assignments
- Before the class started I suggested that each student do a self-assessment of her arithmetic, algebraic and trigonometric skills. This document is one option to do that kind of self-assessment and studying. It's my strong suggestion that you DON'T start by reading this cover-to-cover. Instead, flip to the end of each section and see what problems you can do from the Exercises section. Don't try to do all exercise sections in one sitting, but carve out an hour here or 30 minutes there to work on one or maybe two sections at a given time. If you'd like, you can send me your answers and I can give you feedback, plus help chart a course of what you might want to work on in preparation for the class.
